How does it Sound?
The JZ3 has the same basic circuit as the 3ZB which means both preamps
sound identical for the same setups. So in addition to the clips below
you can also listen to more recordings on the 3ZB
Sound Clip page.

Marcus Alan is a prominent TalkBass member who was
kind enough to let me re-post the nice sound clip he posted in the
TalkBass forum. He had just purchased and installed a preamp and was
demo'ing it for the other forum members. The clip is just over 1 minute
in length and he played Low Z first, then Mid, and High Z-Mode.
Z-Mode Sampler
Here's a quote from Marcus's post with some details about the recording:
"The bass that has the Audere is a 60s MIM Reissue (burgundy "metallic
pink" mist!) that has Nordstrand pickups installed. Other than that, still
the same ole' bass with a set of DRs.
I ran it directly through my FireWire Solo and recorded the clip
using GarageBand with no effects. The Audere is 2-band, but I did
not boost the bass or the treble, they were both flat. Only the volumes
were cranked."
